Děčínský Sněžník - the highest sandstone peak in the Czech Republic

Děčínský Sněžník, the dominant peak of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in northern Bohemia, is the highest sandstone mountain in the Czech Republic with an altitude of 722.8 metres. The trip to Děčínský Sněžník starts in Děčín, where you take the marked green hiking trail towards the top of Sněžník. The path leads through beautiful forest terrain and is approximately 9 km long. After about 3 hours of walking, you will reach the top of Děčínský Sněžník, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, including the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, the Lužické Mountains, the Jizerské hory Mountains and, in good weather, the Krkonoše Mountains. There is a lookout tower at the top from which you can enjoy an even better view of the surroundings.
